Comprehensive Services
At Acadiana Treatment Center, we’re proud to offer expert care in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Located in Sunset, Louisiana, close to Lafayette, our facility serves adolescent girls ages 12-17 who need structured support in a safe treatment environment.
Our leading residential program is a trusted source of care for young women who have a variety of behavioral health concerns. These include conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Our goal at Acadiana Treatment Center is to meet each client where they are and help them get to where they want to be. To accomplish this, we provide each person with a thorough assessment that gives us a detailed picture of the challenges they have been facing.
From there, we create an individualized treatment plan that can support the young person’s needs and help them achieve their short- and long-term goals. Adolescents remain in our residential program for about four to six months, receiving focused support to acquire skills and develop healthy coping strategies. Clients also participate in our educational program, which can help them continue to meet their academic goals.
Collaborative Treatment Approach
At the heart of our premier residential program are our talented and dedicated staff members. These experts can help guide your child on their path to healing and better well-being.
But our staff members are not the only ones who will play a key role in your child’s treatment journey. We consider the specific needs, strengths, abilities, and preferences of each young person we work with. And we work to empower each child or adolescent so that they can become their own best advocate.
At Acadiana Treatment Center, we can also work collaboratively with clients’ families and referral sources to help deliver quality treatment outcomes for each young person. Ways we may work with family members and referral sources include:
- Offering family therapy sessions with a qualified social worker or counselor
- Working with the child and their guardian on discharge planning and aftercare needs
- Collaborating with referral sources when appropriate, particularly during discharge

Our girls adolescent residential program offers:
